Banish the thought. There is no question that Social Marketing, Social Media Marketing and Social Book Marking otherwise known as Web 2.0 is a happening thing!
Alright…we have a new platform, a new opportunity that is going on, it is clear it is the wave of the future, everyone is jumping in on it (we all promised ourselves that the next time a MicroSoft like wave came along we were not going to caught without a paddle, we were going to ride the wave)!
But wait… Where does this fit into my marketing strategy?
I am a stay/work-at-home-mom, with a home-based business, specific to the party plan industry…How do I incorporate this into my current party plan strategy?
Good news, women are social animals, after all how else would the party plan industry have survived this long?
Social platforms are a spectacular venue…Imagine doing a home party in the comfort of your home…on the internet having 10, 20, 30 people tuned in, enthused and excited to buy? Exactly…the potential is endless!
Let’s look at what some of the more dominant social media marketing and bookmarking sites are up to:
FaceBook is adding a million adults per week to their rosters.
YouTube gets over 50 million unique visitors per month.
MySpace has a community of over 300 million users and that is only the tip of the iceberg!
FaceBook and MySpace have the equal daily traffic of Google and that’s going to double!
So how do you get in touch with all those people? How do you make social media work for you?
Social Media is about collaboration!
It is said you already know enough people to network out to any resource you need. After all that is where the idea of the 3 foot rule, lists of 100 and Chase Marketing originated (you know chase after your family and friends!
Social Media Marketing is about becoming a strong link in that networking web in which information, resources, ideas, friendship and inspiration are shared. And what works best is realizing is that its not that people are limited for time…no I would rather check MySpace for message, connect on FaceBook and hop on YouTube to be inspired and of course for a laugh or two!
TIP: Like myself, you will need a mentor who can tell you what will be most effective, efficient, interesting and helpful. A guide who has done all the necessary research ( I need more than research, I need someone who has been there and done that! You want someone to explain exactly how to use these sites and maximize the return of invested time and effort.
