Hey Y’all
It was a simple task that I charged myself with, I was going to kill two birds with one stone! (I will speak more on the dangers of multi-tasking another day lest I digress).
I had a need to go to the post and I also needed to get part of my daily exercise routine done. It was crystal clear, I would walk to the Post office, get my errands ran and get in my exercises all in one!
The journey to the Post Office was pretty uneventful. And I accomplished my mission with expert precision. As I left the Post Office, I got a stroke of genius idea. I decided that I would try a new route to get me back home. I surveryed the land and I thought it would be easy enough, (oh did I mention that I am seriously directionally challenged?) And so began my adventure.
I walked and walked and walked. Convinced that I was in fact going in the right direction. I took detour after detour, exploring neighborhoods and loving the fresh new scenary. Plus the exercise was great! An hour or so into it, I began to get the sense that perhaps I was lost and it would be better to turn back on my track and trust the old faithful route I had always taken. But nah! I was going to keep on keeping on! Another 45 minutes went by.
Finally I met someone and decided to ask directions. She was a very kind woman who gave me great directions and I nodded as she spoke appearing to take in every word. And then I was again on my way.
I proceeded as directed and then I came to a cross-roads and I knew I should have turned left, but I went right. Structures were looking more familiar to me, but I wasn’t getting any closer to home. Finally I got to the local Community College and again asked for directions. I followed them, kept going and then decided that the territory was unfamiliar and turned back on my tracks and turned left into a dip in the road and I knew that I was for sure lost.
So I back tracked and found a utility man who told me that I needed to just walk straight down no turns no detours just straight down till I got to the shopping center and he was sure I would figure it out.
I walked straight down. By now I was about two and a half hours into my walk I found myself, funny enough right at the place where I first started – The post office. In essence the only thing that I had managed to accomplish was a complete 360º. Or was it? I was tired and hungry. As providence would have it there was a little Korean Restaurant, I stopped and got some curry and then I walked home, the usual route I was familiar with and it took me all of 20 minutes!
I managed to accomplish more than that. I learned some very valuable lessons about me, about life and about the process of life. And oh I had a question that had been on my mind for a while, needless to say 3 + hours brought me an answer, this blog post and the video lessons learned: The Best Home Based Business Are Not Free!!
