Recent additions to the field include lingerie, and sex toys.

15 Minutes to a successful home party plans businessYes, yes!  I hear you, is that even possible?  Are you one of those home party consultants who feels like they are just missing out when it comes to creating success in your party plan business?  Does it often feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day as you try to explain to your toddler why the dish ran away with the spoon?

Well keep on reading my fellow home party sales representative and I will share with you how you too can grab your 15 minutes to fame!

1.    Every day check your calender and do what I call 15 minute planning.
How many parties do you have scheduled for the month? On what days to they fall? What is your action plan?

Home Party Plans Success Tip: A well coached Hostess, really is the hostess with the mostess sales!
If you have any parties within 3 weeks, make sure you get in touch with your hostess now!  Establish contact and do so no less that 5 times.  The following Hostess Coaching blog entry should help!

Here is a brief run down.
At the beginning of the month be sure to send each hostess a hostess kit.

Call #1 – 3 weeks before party to confirm the date/time and that they have received their kit. Discuss the guests, and make sure invitations have been sent out.

Call #2 – 2 weeks before party to confirm that the host has been calling and inviting guests. Here the host is to follow up with all those to whom invitations have been sent and start compiling a list of attendees, absentees and those that would like to place orders using the catalog.  This will give you an idea on attendance and plan of action to follow. Decide on food and things of that nature!

Call # 3 – 1 week before party. Coach the host on things she can do to get more attendance! Encourage her to keep inviting people she sees this week. Get directions. Give her a shopping list (if any). Talk about set up and plans for the evening. Remember that even though you do these gatherings all the time, your host doesn’t. It is your job to let her know what to expect so it can be successful for both of you.

Call #4 – 3 days before the party…call and remind the host to “remind” her guests about the party! Remember, personal invites make all the difference in the world. Think about this…if someone called you and invited you to a party, wouldn’t you be more likely to go? Of course you would! Go over any last minute details.

Call #5 – 1 day before the party…call to get an approx head count, so you bring enough samples, product etc.

So what about those that have nothing on the calendar.  Well the fortune is in the follow up.  Call your team, call your customers, call people who have expressed interest in the past.  Just call or send out post cards anything!

Do something today for your business that will generate income for you! Sorry…checking emails, filing papers, making host kits etc doesn’t count! Save those for times you can’t be on the phone.
It’s all about Baby Steps. Remember you are not behind…today is a new day. Take 15 minutes and do something for your business today!
