Hey friends!

Hope all is well. The year 2009 just keeps getting better. Reminds me of the 80’s hit It only get’s better!
I received a call yesterday, from the Head of the Psychology & African American Studies Department at the Millersville University; asking me to be the Keynote Speaker at a gathering of Minority and Small Business Owners. I mean I am honoured does not begin to communicate what I feel. Of course as the weight and reality of this assignment rest upon my shoulder, it comes as no surprise that the issue of communication vs. connecting weighs heavily upon my mind.
Bottom line communication is one of the most overrated principles that was ever concocted. TV, Radio, Computers, email, iphones, Telephones! And yet we have learned out to tune out most of that white noise anyway.
Do you know that the average person spends 83% of their time in a day communicating? A lot of good that is doing us, because 95% of communication is non-verbal…no wonder we get mad and angry a confused. To much input that we must interpret and which we do incorrectly! World peace anyone?
How does this relate to your home party business? How can a direct sales consultant benefit? Simple. Successful home party business owners are leaders go from communicating to connecting! Remember the discussion about what Oprah can teach us about direct sales and home parties success?

DO YOU KNOW WHAT HELL IS?
COME HEAR OUR ORGANIST THIS SUNDAY MORNING!
Too often we say things we don’t mean and we mean things we don’t say and then we wonder why people don’t do those things we ask them to do!
I am of the opinion that the most definitive question that bridges the gap between commnuication and connecting is:
How must this person feel first, so that this person will do what I am asking them to do? -Nido Quebin
And now you know why James Brown wrote the song I feel good….
Party Plan Pat’s Success Tip: SLOW down!
- S – Speaking (which is more than just talking)
- L – Listen (which is more than just hearing)
- O – Observe (which is more than just seeing)
- W- Write, (which is more than just scribbling)
But that’s not all folks, becasue I know the struggles that many face relative to communication and connection with potential customers and clients. I put together The Home Party Plans Qualification Process,
